Королевский Национальный Парк Барида – это самый большой парк в долине Терай, его площадь составляет 968 кв. км. Парк, находящийся в западной части региона Терай, был основан для сохранения экосистемы в целом, а также тигров и видов, относящихся к объектам их охоты. В начале, в 1976 году, под парк была отведена небольшая площадь, названная Королевский Заповедник Карнали. В целях защиты парка, около 1500 человек были переселены за его пределы и это позволило развиться на территории парка богатой растительной и животной жизни. В 1982 парк был переименован в «Королевский заповедник Барида», а в 1984, он был расширен до нынешних размеров. В 1988 году, заповеднику был придан статус Национального парка. Также, в 1986, 1991, 1999, из Королевского национального парка Читван сюда были перевезены однорогие носороги.
